Unbidden Child
Unbidden child, we shied away,
Love us more, than we did you.
For your need was too great for us to bear;
You, so lonely you chose our union,
may have been warmed
Even by so brief a stay
I hope you see that our repulsion
was a kindness,
for your need to be born
informed your choice,
you were not called,
so accept out rejection
with good grace,
and the lesson,
to wait your call.
