Managing ones digital photos is a pain. Collating 'stock' images for commercial use is a relatively well understood domain, but lets make our own mistakes :)
My photos are all JPEG format, but the system would ideally handle all image formats.
My photos are in a real sense a diary, so their timestamp is crucial, but another advantage of the system might be contolling the number of copies of images actually held, for example pictures of an event like Glastonbury occur both in my diary and in the actual Glastonbury site.
A digital image, typically a JPEG photo from a digital camera, but might be a screengrab or gif.
Tim, can we say collection rather than album?
Album, like folder, sounds foreign to me.
These are cyber things and folders and albums are atomic.
A named group of more than one image. Typically a photo session, a selection or just the images uploaded from one full camera.
Text accompanying an image which would be appropriate for use in a general ALT tag.
Words or phrases which categorise the image.
The image which best fits the description. Often a photographer takes five shots of a scene, each of which should be stored, (particularly on the photographers home machine) and each of which shares the description and keywords, but only the best should be returned and the best can only be selected by a person (defaults to first of collection with that description).
Maybe we should be wary of this copyrighted format.
