Well, what a tricky one.

The only method of controlling, disciplining or indeed influencing People at Paneris seems to be naming and shaming and of course ostrasising. Most adults I know have no shame, and indeed think that being thick skinned is a positive benefit in business.

Naming and Shaming

To enable this method of discipline to work the namer must be impartial and objective; that is it should be automated. To make such automatic metrics it is important that everyone on Paneris is familiar with and works in accordance with the rules and in the spirit of openness.

Part of the machinery of Paneris will include measurements of the number of correct actions taken on the site by the individual, which will be published as a league table.

In the spirit of equality, egality and fraternity any member of Paneris will be able to add or modify metrics.

Example and implications

An example metric might be number of emails not replied to, which, I am afraid, means that using the message boards becomes, as it always was, obligatory for Paneris business, and means that using another messaging system has considerable customisation implications.
