I would say not.

I find that there is a split in the white Hat
camp between openness/privacy.

Scratch most American Libertarians and you find a
small government, laissez-faire capitalist.

This fact alone is enough to make me knee-jerk into
an anti-privacy stance, but ....

Certainly when I think of Ethical Programmers
the issue of most import is not the protection of
privacy (privacy and priviledge are too inter-connected for me to disentangle).

I feel that the Ethical Dimesion to Paneris is
connected to empowering the computationally excluded.

I believe in Openness, the problem
with Big Brother is not the invasion of privacy
but that the information held by organisations is not
open to inspection.

This argument was put well in Wired some years ago with regard to public access to CCTV images.

Another Wired argued that you own your own bits.
The principle of permission doesn't help us here,
as it is unlikely that we could ever get or administer
pemissions for images gathered in public spaces.

Having said all of the above I expect that the Guild will
discover some interesting projects :)
