1. Introduction

This document has been written following a meeting between Penny Small of Pandamonium, Giles Thompson of Keyhaven and Tim Joyce and Daniel Hart of HOOP on 12/01/1999. It is designed to set out the tasks and costs estimates for creating a website for Pandamonium, an events promotion company. The website needs to be fun, and create the impression that Pandamonium is a fun company. The site will not be 'corporate'.

1.1 Aims of the site

1.2 Target Audience

1.3 Technology

The site will make extensive use of Flash technology to provide an exciting multimedia experience. An interactive 'dream analysis' section will be considered for the future, this will use Perl or Java to access a database of flat files.

2. Site Design

2.1 General Design Considerations

The feel of the website must reflect the nature of Pandemonium, innovative, distinct, stylish and fanciful, while maintaining quality. The website will include both flash and HTML elements, which must coexist seamlessly to give the site a feel of continuity and identity. The site should be based on the use of images and not lengthy text to portray the information.

A 'stroryboard' will be produced and agreed subsequent to the agreement of this proposal. This will provide more detail to the animated sections of the site. Throughout the site quotes about dreams will occasionally appear.

All content will be supplied by HOOP except where otherwise specified.

2.2 Introduction Page

This page will feature that Pandamonium logo, animated in an exciting way, with sounds. A 'rush-through' button will be supplied to allow frequent visitors to avoid the full presentation. When movie has finished, the user will be automatically taken to the Home Page.

2.3 Home Page

A flash animated page with the Pandora's Box effect using illustrations. The final frame of animation will leave a row of buttons along the bottom of the page, which will remain there throughout the Pandemonium site. This page will have the following navigation items (more imaginative names required):

2.4 Creation Page

A single page of HTML and graphics, talking about what Pandemonium does. Little text, mostly images. Possibly using the idea of a head that separates at different levels revealing ideas/quotes/information throughout the presentation. Maybe information is given on mouseover of a particular image. Content will be about 4 paragraphs of dynamic text that that will describe Pandamonium's Services:

Pandamonium will supply the text.

2.5 Events Page

Due to this page requiring ongoing maintenance to keep the events up-to-date, this page will be mainly static html, with some flash enhancement. There are currently 4 events:

The Eclipse link will go straight to the Eclipse Events Web Site (still to be designed). The other links will go to a single static page with box office contact numbers and a small amount of information about the event (dates etc.), artwork for these pages will be supplied by Pandamonium.

2.6 DreamTank

This section will be added at a future date and will not be present at launch.

The excellent idea for this section was conceived by Penny as a way of adding interactivity to the website and encouraging people to return to the site. It also serves to enhance the fanciful image/branding of Pandemonium and is likely to attract media attention. This section does rely on the involvement of a third party, which is being investigated by Penny. The visitor will enter their dreams, which will be emailed to the designated "Dream Reader", who will reply to them via the web site. This would require daily maintenance from this specified person. The first page will introduce the idea and offer the visitor the opportunity to post up their dreams. The next will list analyzed dreams, which will remain there for a certain amount of time, say one month to begin with. Each dream and its analysis will appear on is own page. This section will be designed to enable a non-webdesigner to respond to the postings through pages automatically generated from a template. Users will be given the option of leaving their email address.

2.6 Clients Page

A straight forward listing of clients with brief descriptions and possibly links to websites.

2.7 Contact Pandamonium

This page will be a conventional contact page, offing a number of contact options, including Telephone, Fax, Formatted and Unformatted email. It will also link to the booking pages of the various events, allowing visitors to easily find box office telephone numbers.
