Version 1.1 14/01/1998 TTJ
Contents:
The Society of Artists Agents requires a Web presence in order to promote themselves and their catalogues and give contact details for Society members. The site will be relatively simple, but will need to have a high quality look and feel that reflects the Society. This site is designed as a 'first stage' web presence, in the future it is anticipated that more comprehensive information will be put online. At this stage the site will simply be a gateway to web sites for illustrators agents and their artists.
The site will contain the following information:
The society's logo
SAA recommended reuse guidelines.
A brief introduction to the society.
A list of members (about 20) with their full contact details, and list of illustrators (about 25 each) including email and web sites addresses, with the facility to click on an address and go to that agents site.
Covers, price and description of the Society's three books. An email address will be given to allow visitors to order these books.
Links to related sites. For the online promotional drive, it is very important to exchange links with those willing to link to your site.
Design Considerations:
A clean and professional look
Quick to download.
Easy to find the required information.
Maximum browser compatibility. The illustrators and artists community is largely Apple Mac based, therefor the site will be tested comprehensively in this environment.
Essential to the success of any website is promotion, simply putting a site on the internet is unlikely to achieve anything as nobody knows it is there. As a minimum, the site should be registered with the 250 or so major search engines. This promotion is best undertaken by HOOP as search engines are difficult beasts to tame.
The site should also be promoted to the general illustrators community online, using existing contacts and other gleaned from newsgroups and general web surfing. This promotion is best done by the society, as you will already have industry contacts, and are in a better position to judge the value of mutual links etc.
During development, the site will be available in a development area on the internet, this allows you to give instant feedback and review progress.
All work undertake by HOOP is charged at £30 per hour.
