| WHAT HYPNOTHERAPY IS by John
Gallacher
Your subconscious mind contains all your memories and knows everything
about you. Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years and Hypnotherapy is simply a
therapy, which uses Hypnosis as a powerful tool to facilitate change. It is the natural
power of your own mind, which is used to relieve symptoms and alter unwanted behaviour
patterns. Hypnotherapy is non-addictive and safe with no unwanted or unpleasant side
effects.
No
one else can every control your mind with the use of Hypnosis. It is your mind and your
are in control. You do not go 'out' or 'to sleep' and you are not unconscious. You hear
everything that is said to you. You are in an altered state of consciousness with a very
narrow focus of attention. Ninety nine percent of people remember everything that the
therapist has said during the sessions and on rare instances the therapist might need to
remind them of one or two points that they talked about in order to trigger of the rest of
the memory. Nothing happens without your consent, and you are in control. However you are
extremely relaxed.
Everyone
can be hypnotised but only if they want to be. All that is needed is your co-operation and
desire to be hypnotised. The Therapist will explain what Hypnotherapy is and how it works
so that you are comfortable about it. The only people who cannot be hypnotised are those
who are drunk or below average intelligence or people who do no want to be hypnotised.
Being hypnotised may not feel as you thought it would feel, but that does not mean you are
not hypnotised.
Hypnotherapy
is a positive, beneficial and non-judgemental experience. It is a way of freeing yourself
and resolving all the old conflicts and injuries and replacing them with a fresh strategy
to help you realise your full potential. It allows you to let go of your emotional past
and rebuild your future making you a stronger more emotionally stable and powerful
individual who can take control of your life.
Patients
should have no fear that they will remain in a trance or that they will be under the
control of the Hypnotherapist. Therapists have no wish to control their patients and in
fact work to return control to patients whose illness, anxiety or condition is an
indication of loss of control.
No
drugs or tablets are used and there are no unwanted side effects from the treatment. The
natural power of the mind is used to relieve symptoms and alter unwanted patterns of
belief and behaviour.
Hypnotherapy
is suitable for children usually from eight years old onwards provided they can understand
what is being said and are intelligent and imaginative.
Hypnotherapy
could change your life forever. The psychological problems, bad relationships, lack of
confidence and unhappiness experienced by you in the past are no longer relevant to your
future.
I
